Philadelphia's Elizabeth Peebles Cheathem, 85, highlighted her valiant effort to earn a high school degree by daily riding a cross-town train to the school for a year. She left school in her senior year to help her dad support the family. Now, the mother of six daughters has 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grand-child.
