The bride, also a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University, is director of human resources at Wishard Memorial Hospital and Health Services. The groom is a chemist for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.
* A Leaning on Love: Lt. Jeffrey Carlton Brown and Robin Camille Hurley became one at Metropolitan AME Church in Washington, D.C. The bride, a graduate of Spelman College and the University of Maryland, College Park, works for Raytheon Systems Company. The groom, a graduate of George Washington University, works for the U.S. Navy. St. Lucia was the site of the exciting honeymoon for the lovebirds.
* Solid Gold: Mr. and Mrs. Arnold G. Stringer of Montgomery, AL, recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. Mrs. Odelia Davis Stringer retired from the Alabama Department of Industrial Relations seven years ago. Mr. Stringer retired as a brick mason, and he received a gold membership pin for 50 years as a member of the Brick Mason Union #3. The Stringers have seven children, 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
* Cheers To Us: Mr. and Mrs. D'archie Martin pledged their eternal love at Bethany United Methodist in New Orleans, LA. The bride, the former Michelle Favarote, attended Delgado College. She is a home health care provider with the Sepra Home Care Agency. The groom attended Dillard University. He is employed with the United States Postal Service. The couple enjoyed a romantic honeymoon in Florida.
* Hand In Hand: Monika Lynette Washington united with Randy Carl Stoker at First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, NC. Graduates of the U.S. Naval Academy, the bride, lieutenant junior grade in the U.S. Navy, is a fire control officer with USS Cole, Norfolk Naval Station, in Norfolk, VA. The groom, a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, is a training officer with Helicopter Mine Counter Measures Squadron # 14, Norfolk Naval Station.
* Legal Pairing: Christopher E. Ward and Meka T. Brumfield married at Cascade United Methodist Church in Atlanta, GA. A graduate of Spelman College, the bride is a judicial law clerk for the City Court of Atlanta. A graduate of Morehouse College, the groom is an attorney with the Public Defender's Office of Fulton County. Both are graduates of the University of Miami School of Law. They honeymooned in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
