Rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard (ODB), a founder of the popular rap group Wu-Tang Clan, recently was arrested for allegedly threatening to kill his former girlfriend.
ODB, whose real name is Russell Jones, was arrested for making the alleged threat, according to Los Angeles County Sheriffs Deputy Joan Raber.
Deputies stopped the 29-year-old rapper as he allegedly tried to climb over a security gate to enter the property where his 27-year-old former girlfriend was working, Raber said. The woman had reported that Jones was heading to the site.
The ex-girlfriend, whose name was not released by the department, told deputies that Jones had threatened to kill her, Raber said. The unidentified woman is the mother of the rap star's 1-year-old child.
He was held at the Carson, CA, sheriff's station on investigation of making terrorist threats and was taken to the Twin Towers Correctional Facility, where he was being held on $500,000 bail.
Still a member of Wu-Tang Clan, the performer embarked upon a solo career three years ago with the release of the album Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version.
