Birthday Joy

T.M. Alexander, Sr., pioneer insurance executive, celebrates his 90th birthday with more than 200 friends and family members at the Atrium in Atlanta. The party was hosted by his daughters, Alvia Boone and Dorothy Brooks, and grandchildren, Tedd Alexander, Arvia Few, Kimberly Hardaway, Renee McCown, Todd Alexander and Jaclynne Boone.

He received best wishes from Atlanta Mayor Bill Campbell, Coretta Scott King and Doug Ivester, president and CEO of Coca-Cola. Alexander founded the insurance firm Alexander & Company Inc. in 1931, which was in business in Atlanta for more than 50 years. Now retired, Alexander has written five books, including his autobiography, Beyond the Timberline: The Trials and Triumphs of A Black Entrepreneur, and he continues to serve as a public speaker.
