The Deep End Of The Ocean

Jet, April 12, 1999 by Sylvia P. Flanagan

(Rated PG-13) Columbia Pictures

The Deep End of the Ocean is the story of the heartbreak of losing a child and the power of family to survive against unfathomable odds. Beth Cappadora is like most mothers--loving, devoted and occasionally overwhelmed by the demands of caring for her family and maintaining a successful career as a photographer. With her three small children, she arrives at a hotel for her 15th high school reunion weekend. In the middle of the crowded lobby, she looks away for a moment-and in that moment her 3-year-old son, Ben, disappears. Police detective Candy Bliss develops a close relationship with Beth as she searches for her son. Starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Treat Williams, Whoopi Goldberg, Jonathan Jackson, Cory Buck, Ryan Merriman, Alexa Vega, Michael McGrady, Brenda Strong, Michael McElroy and many more.
