Whenever famed singer India.Arie is in Chicago, she says her favorite place to visit is Johnson Publishing Company headquarters, which publishes JET and EBONY.
"I usually go to the JET offices to say `hi' even if they don't ask me," she recently told the Chicago Sun-Times.
"I like them. They've always been really nice to me. I always offer to do interviews with them even if they don't ask me!" she said.
India was recently in Chicago for a sold-out show at the Auditorium Theatre, which featured Floetry and Slum Village. She is currently on her first headlining tour which is selling out in every city and winning cheers from music critics and her fans.
She first visited JET two years ago shortly before her debut album Acoustic Soul (with the hit single Video), was released. She is currently riding the charts with her second hit album Voyage To India, which features the uplifting, top-selling tune Little Things.
