Isiah Thomas regrets infamous 1991 exit

Jet, Jan 5, 2004

Former Detroit Pistons guard Isiah Thomas recently admitted to ESPN.com that there is one thing in his NBA career he wishes he could do over again. "I would shake Michael Jordan's hand when we walked off the floor after they beat us in 1991."

Thomas, a team captain, and other Pistons starters walked off the court at the end of the game, right past the Chicago Bulls' bench, and refused to shake hands when the Bulls swept the two-time defending champion Pistons in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals.

The Bulls won 115-94 in Game 4 that was at the Palace in Michigan.

Jordan led the way with a 29point, 8-rebound, 8-assist performance that brought the Bulls to the NBA Finals for the first time in the club's 25-year history.

Though Thomas received much criticism and admitted later that the graceless exit was unsportsman-like, Thomas has never publicly apologized.
