Baked Macaroni And Cheese

Baked Macaroni And Cheese is an all-time family favorite. No holiday menu is complete without Baked Macaroni And Cheese. Here is an easy-to-prepare Baked Macaroni And Cheese.

Baked Macaroni And Cheese

2 tablespoons butter
  or margarine
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon white pepper
3 cups milk
2 cups shredded sharp
  Cheddar cheese
5 cups cooked
  elbow macaroni

Heat butter in large heavy saucepan until melted over low heat; add flour, mustard, salt, onion powder and white pepper. Cook and stir until bubbly, about 1 minute, stirring constantly until smooth. Gradually stir in milk. Cook over medium heat until thickened and bubbly, about 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.

Stir in 1 1/2 cups cheese and continue to stir until cheese melts. Stir in macaroni; spoon into a 2-quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake at 350 degrees until heated through, about 30 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
