Patricia Mell, a professor at Michigan State University-Detroit College of law since 1996, was installed as dean of the John Marshall Law School in Chicago. Mell is the first Black and first female to lead the 104-year-old school. AS dean, she will focus on boosting the school's various law programs to top 10 status.
A Case Western Reserve University Law School graduate, Mell has 20 years of teaching experience.
