EBONY Fashion Fair's 'Color Splash' visits Washington, D.C

Jet, Nov 10, 2003

No fashion was left unfulfilled. That's because the EBONY Fashion Fair aims to please. And it came through in grand style for another year when Color Splash visited the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall in Washington, D.C.

The technique of splashing was the inspiration behind an array of prints and patterns exemplified by some of the world's biggest designers.

Designs of silk chiffon were drenched with a multitude of colors to create a brilliant abstract motif and finely detailed floral prints.

Unusual prints and patterns in suits and sweater sets, for career or leisure, were brought alive by a colorful mix of stripes, checks and plaids.

Flowers were also popular during the show. Floral prints made for some of the show's splashiest creations.

Female patrons and male patrons enjoyed the fashion extravaganza. The Washington, D.C., chapter of the Continental Societies sponsored the memorable event, which benefited Operation Awareness: HEER Five-Point Program.
