Nissan names Greg Daniels senior V.P., U.S. Manufacturing

Nissan North America recently announced the appointment of Greg Daniels to the post of senior vice president, U.S. Manufacturing.
He is the first Black to hold the position. Daniels will manage the Smyrna, TN, plant and oversee operations at the Decherd, TN, Powertrain Assembly Plant and Canton, MS, manufacturing facility.
Daniels graduated from Monroe High School in Albany, GA, in 1970 and received his bachelor's degree in mathematics from Albany State University in Albany, GA.
He joined Nissan in 1982 and most recently served as vice president, manufacturing, for the Smyrna plant. He also has held director positions in product quality assurance and manufacturing at the company. Prior to Nissan, Daniels worked as an industrial engineer for Ford Motor Co.
Daniels will manage the Smyrna plant, which has a capacity to build 550,000 vehicles a year-the Maxima sedan, Altima sedan, Xterra SUV and Frontier pick-up truck.
Daniels also will oversee engine and transaxle assembly operations at Nissan's Decherd powertrain plant. Decherd builds the engines for all Nissan and Infiniti vehicles manufactured in the U.S.
