* EXECUTIVE PROMOTION!: Wanda Lloyd, executive director of the Freedom Forum Diversity Institute, was recently named executive editor of the Montgomery Advertiser in Montgomery, AL. Lloyd assumes the post June 1 at the Gannett paper, filling a vacancy left after the death of Paula Moore in January.
Lloyd, a native of Savannah, GA, graduated from Spelman College with a degree in English. She has worked for the Washington Post as a deputy editor and at USA Today where she was senior editor for a decade before becoming managing editor of the Greenville (SC) News. "I'm excited to work at a paper where I can have an impact on the community," said Lloyd. "I think I missed something working at such large papers. I want to be in a city where I can touch and feel and smell and hear from the reader."
