Confidential: For the first time in history 26% of the Army's soldiers are Black, the largest minority represented. Appearing at a seminar at Morgan State University ion the role of African-Americans in the war on terrorism, four retired Black Army officers indicated the high percentage of Black troops (compared to the 10% of Blacks in the total country population) was not brought out in the news media's coverage of the war in Iraq.

They claimed that too few of the Black GIs were mentioned or had their pictures in newspapers.
