Solange Knowles gives birth to a baby boy

Popular singer Solange Knowles, sister of superstar Beyonce, recently gave birth to a baby boy, according to her publicist.

Knowles, 18, gave birth in Los Angeles to Daniel Julez J. Smith, said Marcus R. Harris of Music World Sanctuary, which manages Knowles, Beyonce and other artists.

"The whole family is very excited about their new gift of life," said Harris.

Knowles wed Daniel Smith, a college football player, in a ceremony in the Bahamas earlier this year (JET, March 22).

She released her debut CD, Solo Star, last year and appeared in the hit movie Johnson Family Vacation.
