Luther Vandross Signs With Clive Davis' New Label, J Records

Superstar Luther Vandross has signed a multi-album deal with former Arista Records chief Clive Davis' new label, J Records.

Vandross, whose hits include Here and Now, A House Is Not A Home, Never Too Much and Power Of Love, is among the first artists to sign to the upstart label.

"I am an enormous fan of Clive Davis," says Vandross. "He loves music, he loves success and I am more than proud to align myself with him."

Davis called Vandross "the best male R&B singer in the world."

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Davis, who founded Arista Records 25 years ago, left the record company earlier this year and was succeeded by Antonio "L.A." Reid.
