September 13 marked the 108th birthday of Fred Fletcher. He is the proud father of 16 children, nine who are still living, and the grandfather of over 200 descendants. Fletcher spent his working years as a farmer, a foreman and a mechanic to support his family. He resides in Sacramento, CA, and enjoys fishing, traveling and watching his favorite team, the San Francisco Giants, play.
He attributes his long life to a strong belief in God and clean living-no drinking alcohol or smoking.
