> In it's biggest victory of the year, the Howard University law school's mock trial team defeated Harvard and six other teams for the championship of the American Bar Association national competition. In the Congressional Record, Rep. Elijah Cummings, himself a former Howard team member, praised the outstanding performance and mentioned that the school's law dean, Kurt Schmoke, is a former Baltimore mayor.
