Drum Major For Justice Awards

DRUM MAJOR FOR JUSTICE AWARDS: Evelyn G. Lowery (2nd, l), founder and board chair of SCLC/WOMEN, Inc., congratulates several recipients of the organization's Drum Major For Justice Awards during a recent dinner in Atlanta. TV Judge Glenda Hatchett (1) received the "Save the Children Award" and Dr.
Ruth Simmons (2nd, r), the first Black president of Brown University, received the "Education Award." Joining in the festivities is Dr. Johnnetta B. Cole, former president of Spelman College, who presented the award to Judge Hatchett. Award recipients are chosen for their exemplary professional work while representing the ideals and nonviolent spirit of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., for whom the award is named.
