* Citizenship Award Winner: Miami Heat Alonzo Mourning smiles as he talks about his charities during a news conference after he was awarded the 2002 Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award, an award given to an NBA player who has shown exemplary community service. Mourning, diagnosed with a kidney disorder in October 2000, created Zo's Fund for Life, which has raised more than $2 million toward kidney disease research for the Glomerular Institute at Columbia University. Also, the seven-time NBA All-Star's off-season community service includes a three-day charity event, Zo's Summer Groove (ZSG). ZSG has raised more than $1.8 million over the past five years for various charities.
