Jet, May 3, 1999

Treach of the rap group Naughty By Nature recently announced that he wed his longtime girlfriend, Pepa, of the hit rap group Salt-N-Pepa.

Treach, whose real name is Anthony Criss, told Ricki Lake on her talk show that their wedding took place in a tattoo shop in Lawrence, KS. He said the two had barbed-wire rings tattooed on their wedding fingers.

"This represents that no one will cross the line," Treach told Lake of his union to Pepa, whose real name is Sandra Denton.

The couple are the parents of a 7-month-old daughter, Egypt.

Naughty By Nature performed the song Jamboree from its new album, Nineteen Naughty Nine Nature's Fury, on the talk show. The group, whose album Poverty's Paradise won a Grammy Award in 1995, is known for the hit songs Hip Hop Hooray and O.P.P.

Salt-N-Pepa's hits include Whatta Man, Shoop and None of Your Business, which won the group a Grammy Award in 1994.
