Buddy guy gets national honor

The Medal of Arts, established by Congress in 1984, is awarded to those who have made extraordinary contributions to the creation, growth and support of the arts in the United States. Guy, 67, was born in Lettsworth, LA, and began to play professionally in and around Baton Rouge in the early 1950s. The blues guitar legend has been credited with helping to move the blues into the postmodern era.
