Principal Jordan

Jet, May 10, 1999

Ex-basketball star Michael Jordan laughs with students in a consumer education class during the "Principal for a Day" program at Marshall Metro High School in Chicago. Jordan and other Chicago celebrities and political figures participated in the one-day event to call attention to school's financial needs.

Jordan encouraged the students to make good grades. "You need to have a plan for good grades or you're not going to have options later in life," he said. "If basketball didn't work out for me, I had a college degree to fall back on; I might have been a meteorologist."
