Harlem Globetrotters team owner and chairman Mannie Jackson was recently honored by the National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ) at the 50th Anniversary Humanitarian Awards Dinner at the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa in Phoenix.

"It is an honor to be chosen for the NCCJ Humanitarian Award," said Jackson who purchased the near-bankrupt organization in 1993 that since has resulted in an average annual growth of 17% in revenues since that year.

"The NCCJ's programs work to promote understanding and communication on our increasingly diverse society. The Globetrotters embrace these goals by building bridges between people across the street and around the globe, and aim to leave each community they visit a better place," Jackson said.

Some of the greatest players in the Globetrotters' history reunited for the celebration and were also honored by the NCCJ with the "Legends" ring.
