CHAMPIONSHIP CELEBRATION: The Los Angeles Lakers' guard Kobe Bryant (1) and MVP center Shaquille O'Neal admire their NBA championship rings during pre-game ceremonies of their home opener in Los Angeles. Following the 15-minute ring ceremony, the Lakers, who won the team's first title since 1988 last June by beating Indiana in the finals, watched their seventh championship banner being added to the Staples Center wall as We Are The Champions played.
Each ring cost about $7,500 and is engraved with the words "Bling-Bling," Shaq's description of the glitter of a championship ring's diamonds.
