EBONY Fashion Fair Excites Chicago Audience With `Fashion Sensation'
Jet, Nov 20, 2000
EBONY Fashion Fair left Chicagoans on fire when Fashion Sensation made its way to the Windy City at the Arie Crown Theatre at McCormick Place.
Creations from the world's premier designers were so hot they left the audience in a fashion fever.
A velvet floor-length, form-fitting gown with a plunging neckline by Carven, a strapless gown with a thigh-high split that actually revealed the thigh by Jacques Fath and a black leather jumpsuit with a full-length coat trimmed with fur by Jean Louis Scherrer were some of the many designs that tantalized the fashion patrons.
Attention-grabbing creations in bold colors and you-must-see-to-believe styles also were showcased from top Black American designers such as Eric Gaskins, B. Michael Couture Millinery, L'Amour and Quinton de Alexander and Black French designer Abraham Pehlam.
The Chicago Inter-Alumni Council/The College Fund/UNCF sponsored this year's event to benefit The College Fund.
