Small Business Person Of The Year

SMALL BUSINESS PERSON OF THE YEAR: Thornton Stanley of Huntsville, AL, is presented the Small Business Person of the Year Award by President Bush during a recent ceremony in the East Room of the White House in Washington, D.C. The award is sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration and part of the celebration of National Small Business Week which annually observes American entrepreneurship.
Stanley, an Alabama A&M alumnus, is the president of the family-operated business Stanley Construction Company, Inc., one of the top 100 paving and excavating companies in the country. He employs 55 people and is also one of the top 20 subcontractors in Alabama.
