Ebony fashion fair electrifies Chicago with `the changing trends of fashion'
Jet, Dec 3, 2001
For the 44th year, Chicagoans saw delectable haute couture creations that mixed and matched styles and designs in fabulous ways that brought gasps from the crowd.
A full-length glazed taffeta trench coat was a real head-turner once a sparkling jeweled minidress with attached hood were revealed underneath. A varicolored panel-cut cape had the same effect when a see-through bronze lace top and blue jeans embroidered in gold and satin were unveiled.
Males in the audience saw everything from a vertical cut leather and wool sweater ensemble to pin-striped double-breasted suits to swimwear that would make any woman scream in delight at the sight of it.
The Chicago Inter-Alumni Council (CIAC)/The College Fund/United
Negro College Fund (UNCF) sponsored this year's event to benefit The College Fund.
