GOSPEL EVENTS IN HIGH GEAR: Gospel great Shirley Caesar (2nd, l) and members of the new gospel group Virtue (3rd, l-r), Heather Trotter, Ebony Trotter and Karima Kibble, are joined by Don Jackson (1), CEO of the Chicago-based Central City Productions, and Chevrolet representative Ronte Smith, regional sales manager, following a press conference where Caesar and Virtue announced the 2002 17th Annual Stellar Awards nominees at the Grant Hyatt Hotel in Atlanta.
Chevrolet, a division of General Motors, has been a major sponsor of the Stellar Awards for 11 years and for the second year is the exclusive sponsor of the Chevrolet-Stellar Youth Choir Workshop. The workshop will be held during the week of the Stellar Awards-January 7-12-in Atlanta next year. The Stellar Gospel Music Awards, now in its 17th year, honors the biggest names in gospel music and is supported by the gospel recording industry's most influential artists, owners and producers.
