Jet on the set: HBCU College Tour
Jet, Dec 25, 2006
The 6th Annual "Fueling the Future: HBCU College Tour" is one of Jet Magazine's vehicles for promoting higher education and healthy lifestyles among college students. The tour, sponsored by Wal-Mart and Namaste Laboratories, traveled to Virginia State University, Texas Southern University, Hampton University, Prairie View A&M University, Norfolk State University, North Carolina Central University and South Carolina State University during the 2006 homecoming season.
During the tour students received a Jet care package containing t-shirts along with Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Lotion, Olive Oil Sheen Spray, Tea Tree Spray and Tea Tree Lotion product samples. Namaste Laboratories, makers of Organic Root Stimulator, provided an on-site hair analysis along with product recommendations. Additionally, students had an opportunity to spin the Organic Root Stimulator wheel of fortune to win full size hair products and branded gifts.
Wal-Mart sponsored an exclusive fashion show at each of the schools to promote the Exsto, George ME, Metro7, and No Boundaries fashion lines. Students were chosen from each campus to model the latest styles and accessories available exclusively at Wal-Mart.
