Caption: MANDELA HONORED IN CANADA: Nelson Mandela (r), former South African President, and Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien enjoy the festivities during a ceremony where the Nobel Peace Prize winner was recently made an honorary Canadian citizen in Hull, Canada. While visiting the French-speaking country Mandela was awarded an honorary doctorate of law from Ryerson University and participated in the official renaming of the Nelson Mandela Park Public School. In return Mandela paid tribute to Canada's support for the anti-apartheid movement and to the country's independent foreign policy.
