Caption: A LEGEND TAKES THE STAGE: Pulitzer Prize-winning Playwright August Wilson makes his acting debut on the stage of the Seattle Repertory Theatre in Seattle as he performs his one-man autobiographical show How I Learned What I Learned. The special world premiere event was in celebration of the theatre's 40th anniversary and the second annual Hot Type Festival of New Work. In the play Wilson, 58, recalls his early adulthood, proud mother, poet-junkie friends and the street ethics of Pittsburgh in the 1950s. Wilson won Pulitzer Prizes and Tony Awards for both his plays Fences (1987) and The Piano Lesson (1990).
