EYE FOR FASHION: Singer and fashion plate Beyonce Knowles shows off her signature style with fashion designer Carolina Herrera backstage at the 2004 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CDFA) Fashion Awards at the New York Public Library in New York. Beyonce, sporting a dress designed by her mother, Tina Knowles, presented Herrera the award for Womenswear Designer of the Year.
Below, music and fashion mogul Sean "P. Diddy" Combs and designer Zac Posen also claimed top honors. Combs was named Menswear Designer of the Year for his Sean Jean line and Posen won the Swarovski's Perry Ellis Award for Ready to Wear. "I am living the American dream," Combs told the audience of more than 400 notables from fashion and entertainment. The annual awards honor fashion designers, journalists and creative visionaries for their originality and leadership in American fashion.
