Jet, July 7, 2008
Aylwin Lewis is back in the business of running businesses. The former CEO of Sears Holdings Corp. was recently named chief executive officer of the Chicago-based Potbelly Sandwich Works. Lewis, 54, replaces Bryant Keil, who stepped down from the position.

Heading a restaurant chain is nothing new for Lewis. He has served in high-level executive positions at Yum Brands Inc., the holding company for several fast-food chains, including KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut.
Lewis had been CEO of Kmart before its merger with Sears in 2005. He stepped down from his position at Sears earlier this year (JET, Feb. 18).
The Potbelly subway sandwich chain has around 200 stores across the country. The company reportedly plans to open 50 restaurants a year.
