* TWO THUMBS WAY UP!: Famed film critic Roger Ebert gives his trademark "thumbs up" sign along with his wife Chaz after he received the 2,288th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame located in front of the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. Ebert, 65, the first person to receive a Pulitzer Prize for arts criticism, is also the first critic to receive a star on the Walk of Fame.
"When I watch movies, I can feel what it's like to walk in another person's shoes," said the Chicago Sun-Times writer. "Movies make us more decent people. This is a wonderful day for me." The honor, which recognizes Ebert's contribution to the world of cinema, coincides with the 30th anniversary of his TV show "Siskel & Ebert and the Movies," co-hosted by the late Gene Siskel. Today the show continues as "Ebert & Roeper" and is co-hosted by Ebert's Sun-Times colleague Richard Roeper.
