ASCAP AWARDS: Famed songwriters-products Jermaine Dupri (1) and Timbaland are congratulated by Jeanie Weems, ASCAP vice president, after both received ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Songwriter of the Year honors during ASCAPs 14th annual Rhythm & Soul Music Awards Dinner in Atlanta. At right, veteran singer-songwriter Peabo Bryson receives the coveted Rhythm & Soul Heritage Award from famed singer Roberta Flack.

Also during the ceremonies, the late Bob Marley was named Reggae Artist of the Year. The top rap song was Hot Boyz written by Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott and Timbaland. The event honored ASCAPs top R&B, hip hop, rap, dance and reggae songwriters and publishers for the year 2000.
