Confidential: Despite opposition from anti-choice groups, the NAACP and the Black Women's Health Initiative supported contraceptive education and abortion rights for minority women. Praising the groups on the House floor, Texas Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee said these programs must be a priority for Black women.
