Eric H. Holder, former deputy attorney general of the United States, recently joined the Washington, D.C., law firm of Covington & Burling as a partner. Holder will handle complex civil and criminal cases, domestic and international advisory matters, and internal corporate investigations for the law firm.

He will also focus on such areas as antitrust disputes, employment, health care and intellectual property.
