BIG WINNERS AT LAST: During a news conference in Atlanta, taxi driver Max Ossei-Wusu (speaking at podium), along with attorney Ernest Tate (at podium), answers questions from the press after it was announced Ossei-Wusu and the other taxi drivers (rear) who regularly pooled theft money to play the Georgia Lottery would receive the payout of the May 4 jackpot that totaled $90 million.

The 22 drivers, all from Ghana, selected the cash option payout and are entitled to about $49.4 million--$2.1 million each before taxes. The payout had been delayed due to lawsuits filed by some drivers who contended they should have received part of the money. Ossei-Wusu, who organized the group, countered that the drivers weren't entitled to winnings because they failed to give him money to buy tickets for the winning drawing. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Alice Bonner agreed and ordered the Georgia Lottery Corporation to pay Ossei-Wusu and his group.
