THE 'PINK PANTHER' FILMS IN PARIS: Singer-actress Beyonce Knowles, with veteran actors Steve Martin and Frenchman Jean Reno smiling in the background, prepares to speak during a press conference at the Sorbonne in Paris during a break in the filming of The Pink Panther. Martin will portray the clumsy Inspector Jacques Clouseau, while Beyonce plays Clouseau's love interest, Xania.
Reno plays Ponton, Clouseau's sidekick. The reworking of the 1963 Peter Sellers classic film is slated for release in July 2005. Beyonce is also co-writing and singing the title track of The Pink Panther and one other song. The popular theme music, composed by the late Henry Mancini, will remain.
