Incoming Illinois Sen. Barack Obama showed real class when he appeared on the Hill in Washington to be sworn in as the body's only Black member. Refusing to be swayed by an avalanche of news photogs and news people, Obama insisted that his Illinois guests I be greeted properly and seated for the event.
He also became the 43rd member of the Congressional Black Caucus, making it the largest Black congressional group in history.
