Entrepreneurial leaders of tomorrow

ENTREPRENEURIAL LEADERS OF TOMORROW: The U.S. Army Research Laboratory is funding a program to train future Black entrepreneurial leaders at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB). The Integrated Technology Transfer Network (ITTN) program in partnership with the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education (NAFEO), is a nine-month program in entrepreneurship for science and mathematics graduate students at historically Black colleges and universities.

The fellows and program officials are (Fr) Dr. Clifford Young, special assistant to the President, California State University, San Bernardino; Dr. Arthur Thomas, senior manager, Leadership Development, NAFEO; Erica Myers, Voorhees College; Dr. Michael Stuli, director, Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship, CSUSB; Lona Vincent, Hampton University; Suniko Hickman, Voorhees College; Marissa Massey, North Carolina Central University; John Johnson, Central State University; Alicia Scott, Bowie State University; Chalance Williams, Central State University; Siobhan Tarver, Texas Southern University; Sheronda Gibbs, Jackson State University; Danunetta Jones, Florida A&M University; Dr. Albert Karnig, president, California State University, San Bernardino and Monica Brule, director, ITTN. Dr. Lezli Baskerville (inset), president and CEO of NAFEO, said the program "will prepare HBCU science graduates to make cutting-edge contributions in science and entrepreneurship." California Rep. Jerry Lewis (inset) was instrumental in securing the program's initial $1.3 million from the U.S. Army Research Laboratory and continued funding of $3.4 million.
