A month after being fired from his job on the hit ABC show "Grey's Anatomy" actor Isaiah Washington has signed on to play a new role on NBC.
This fall Washington will appear as a guest-star on the remake of the 1970's drama "Bionic Woman," according to his public relations rep Thea Ellis. He has also signed a developmental deal to star in a project he pitched to the network for the 2008-09 TV season.
Washington, 43, will appear in at least five episodes of "Bionic Woman," which is considered to be NBC's strongest show in the fall line up. His character, introduced early in the series, be an outsider with a mysterious agenda who may either help the super-powered Jamie (Michelle Ryan) or take her down, USA Today reports.
Washington was fired from the medical drama for using a homophobic slur on set (JET, June 25). In recent interviews Washington has said that racism may have been a factor in his termination and accused his former costar T.R. Knight of manipulating the controversy.
