Caption: 30,000-POINT MILESTONE: Michael Jordan became the fourth NBA player to reach the 30,000-point milestone and ironically, it was against his former championship team, the Chicago Bulls. Jordan began the game with 29,985 career points, and with two free throws in the first half of the game at the MCI Center in Washington D.C., Jordan joined Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone and Wilt Chamberlain as the only players to score 30,000 points. The game was delayed about 30 seconds while Jordan acknowledged the cheering, sold-out crowd. He finished the game with 29 points.
