Louisiana businessman Ben D. Johnson (2nd, r) displays a rendering of the $200,000 check he recently presented Grambling (LA) State University. His donation is the second largest single donation ever made to the university by an individual. Johnson is CEO and board chairman of Winnfield Funeral Homes and Insurance Co. in Natchitoches, LA, his hometown. Though he is not an alumnus of GSU, Johnson earmarked the money for endowments, scholarships and alumni projects, in addition to establishing a cooperative program between the university and the Ben D. Johnson Alternative School in Natchitoches.
