Connecticut Gets Its First Black U.S. Attorney

Stephen C. Robinson was recently confirmed as the first Black to serve as U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Robinson, 41, was appointed by President Clinton and received a unanimous confirmation by the U.S. Senate.
A native of Brooklyn, NY, Robinson received his bachelor's and law degrees from Cornell University in 1981 and 1984 respectively.
After graduation, he became the first Black associate at the 150-year-old New York law firm of Alexander & Green.
In 1993, after spending several years at Kroll Associates, the world's largest private investigation firm, Robinson became Principal Deputy General Counsel with the FBI. At the FBI, he worked on the World Trade Center and Oklahoma City bombing investigations.
