Broadway Comes To The White House

Jet, Dec 28, 1998

President Clinton is joined by Broadway singers Jennifer Holliday and Brian Stokes Mitchell, along with James Naughton and Patti LuPone in the East Room of the White House for a taping of a PBS special. The stars reprised some of their most memorable roles before the president, the first lady and guests.

Holliday, who starred in Dreamgirls, drew the audience to its feet with her rendition of And I Am Telling You, I'm Not Going and Ragtime star Mitchell sang the tune Make Them Hear You. The program, part of a series at the White House, airs in 1999.
