Poll: Americans Believe Color Is Basis Of Most Bias In U.S

Americans believe discrimination on the basis of color is the most common form of bias in the United States, according to a recent poll.

The study, conducted by Taylor Nelson Sofres Intersearch/GIA World Opinion Survey, found that 48 percent of those polled believe that discrimination on the basis of color takes place frequently in the United States.

Sex ranked second as the basis of discrimination with 38 percent of the votes, while language was listed as third with 32 percent of the votes.

Religion and political opinion were also given as reasons for the basis of discrimination with 21 percent and 17 percent of the votes respectively.
