In the recent Georgia primaries, ex-Rep. Cynthia McKinney with lagging finances, scored an impressive comeback, winning over 50 percent of the vote to avoid a runoff election. In the GOP U.S. Senate race, former Godfather pizza chief executive Herman Cain, who is Black, lost after spending more than $750,000 of his own money while ex-Rep.
Denise Majette, another Black, faces a runoff in the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate.
