FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME: Former Washington Redskins cornerback Darrell Green wipes away tears as he gives his speech at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH. Green is among the six newly enshrined Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2008. They are Fred Dean of the San Diego Chargers and San Francisco 49ers; Green; Art Monk of the Washington Redskins; Emmitt Thomas of the Kansas City Chiefs; Andre Tippett of the New England Patriots and Gary Zimmerman of the Minnesota Vikings, all of whom were honored at the Pro Football Hall of Fame 2008 Enshrinees Dinner at the Canton Memorial Civic Center. The crowd at the induction ceremony-full of Redskins fans-cheered on their favorites, giving the largest ovation to Monk, who retired in 1995 as the NFL's career receptions leader with 940 catches. Green was the only player in the '08 class selected in his first year of eligibility. He also was the only one to cry, and he was proud of it. "Deacon Jones said I was gonna cry. You bet I'm gonna cry," Green said after his son, Jared, introduced him. "You bet your life I will ..."
