Darlyne Bailey, former dean of the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, has been appointed dean and vice president for academic affairs at Teachers College Columbia University in New York City. She becomes the first Black woman to serve in that post and will assume her duties in the spring of 2002.
Bailey also will serve as a full professor at the Columbia School of Social Work.
